Welcome to LoHi/Highlands

ON A SLOPE OVERLOOKING DOWNTOWN, THE HIGHLANDS AND LOWER HIGHLANDS (LOHI) OFTER SPECTACULAR VIEWS AND AN EXCITING TAKE ON CITY LIVING, WITH AN ENERGY UNIQUE TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD.
LOHI/HIGHLANDS Homes for Sale
The Highlands and Lower Highlands (LoHi) have embraced the essence of Denver city living. Perhaps it’s overlooking downtown from its sloping streets; its abundance of shopping and dining; its population of fast-paced young professionals and young families; or its embrace of blended architecture and unique livings spaces. The Highlands is a downtown neighborhood with a distinct energy and more than enough amenities to create a relaxed but full life.

Built up around commercial areas with some of Denver’s best shops and restaurants, much of the area is walkable. In fact, cross the bridge over I-25 and you can walk right into downtown’s Union Station. But there is also a wide variety of residential options available, from condos in high rises to old houses waiting to be renovated for hip city living

SHOPPING/ENTERTAINMENT
Like the dining scene, the entertainment in Highlands is on-point. It is a short walk to Denver’s Union Station, with restaurant, treats, and small shops. But right in the heart of the neighborhood are several shopping areas, like Highlands Square. You can also stroll Platt Street for cute, local boutiques like Sous Le Lit, Common Era, and Armitage + McMillan. For the true Coloradoan, shop outfitting experts like REI and the Wilderness Exchange. If you feel like pampering yourself, pop into Base Coat Salon for an all-natural manicure or pedicure. Or treat the kids to a day at the Aquarium or the notable Children’s Museum.

RESTAURANTS & GROCERIES
The Highlands may be the most food-centric neighborhood in Denver, with more hotspots than can be listed in a single paragraph. The young, urban crowds and walkable environment draw restrauntuers to the area, and the result is a massive collection of trending and eccentric foods. Among this collection, try Root Down, Linger, or El Five, all creative ventures by the talented Justin Cucci. For neighborhood mainstays, try the upscale Duo Restaurant, or more relaxed Latin cuisine at Lola. Get your caffeine fix at the largely popular and very quaint Black Eye Coffee; and satisfy your sweet tooth at Little Man Ice Cream. And if you’re on the hunt for a refreshing beer (and maybe some bar food) look no further than Highland Tavern, Highland Tap + Burger, or the Recess Beer Garden.
Though the Highlands neighborhood screams “local”, there is easy access to plenty of the modern, daily conveniences you require. Find your groceries at the nearby Whole Foods, King Soopers, or Safeway; and there are plenty of gas stations along Speer Boulevard, right on your way to I-25 for a work commute or an escape to the mountains.

PARKS/RECREATION
With all of its urban vibes, much of the recreation in the Highlands revolves around walking the streets—there is always somewhere to stop in or ride your bike to. But there are several parks sprinkled throughout the neighborhood, each with their own personality. Cross the bridge to spread your blanket by the Platt River at Riverfront Park, watching the kayakers take on the small white water. Or visit Highland Park for your local library, a playground, and basketball. You can sweat it out on the Highland Recreation Center, or job along the running path that winds through the whole neighborhood.
