Welcome to Platt Park
PLATT PARK IS A WALKABLE, FAMILY-FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD, WITH A WIDE VARIETY OF HOUSES AND AMPLE AMENITIES.
Platt Park is a walkable, family-friendly neighborhood, and an eclectic collection of bungalows, refurbished Victorians, and modern new builds. The neighborhood schools are small, but diverse; the parks are well-kept; and the amenities are plentiful. The larger lots and comfortable homes give it a pleasant neighborhood feel; but the Louisiana-Pearl light rail station, plus close access to I-25, means downtown and the surrounding areas are right at your fingertips.
What is best about Platt Park is all that exists, right within the neighborhood—it’s easy to get around if you want to leave, but you also have all the creature comforts available within a matter of blocks.

SHOPPING/ENTERTAINMENT
What is fantastic about Platt Park’s commercial districts is that they consist, not only of excellent dining, but shopping as well. South Pearl Street houses several brick and mortar boutiques worth investigating: 5 Green Boxes, Common Threads, Gracie’s, The Ruffly Rose, Melrose + Madison, Pearl Wine Company, Paige on Pearl, and Sowilo Jewelry. Shop murder mystery books at Murder By the Book; or for other more classic titles, venture over to Printed Page on South Broadway. If your shopping takes you to South Broadway, you’ll also be in prime Antique Row territory—and just a few minutes from the other South Broadway shops and restaurants north of I-25.
South Pearl Street is also home to one of Denver’s best farmer’s markets, which runs on Sundays from May through November and brings together local growers and shopkeepers for an expansive market experience. The markets often include activities for kids and live music for entertainment, plus food trucks from all over the city. More Platt Park special events are kept on the South Pearl Street calendar here. The neighborhood is not lacking in cultural attraction either. There are five art galleries on South Pearl Street alone: Artyard Sculpture Gallery, the Bell Gallery, Gallery 1505, Sand Dollar Gallery, and the Colorado Potters Guild. Visit the Denver Folklore Center for music lessons, vintage instruments, and other historical flare. The quaint Decker Branch of the Denver Public Library is tucked right into the corner of the park, and offers a wide selection of reading material plus special programming for children and families. Be sure to take advantage of all the self-care and professional services in the area as well, from yoga and acupuncture, to massage, a meditation sanctuary, and a float center. |
RESTAURANTS
Though peacefully residential, Platt Park boasts many nearby restaurants that attract guests from neighboring areas. South Pearl Street, which runs the length of the neighborhood is home to almost any genre of food, including: Little Spoons best Italian little spot for an amazing lunch treat; breakfast sandwiches and famous cinnamon rolls at Duffyrolls; French cuisine and an extensive wine list at The Village Cork; Hanson’s Grill and Tavern for nightly specials, and the neighborhood bar; Izakaya Den for tapas and sake on the upper floor beneath a retractable roof, sushi at the parent Sushi Den, or ramen at Ototo Den; freshly baked pastries, treats, and sandwiches at kid-friendly Pajama Baking Company; locally inspired dishes at Black Pearl; fantastic burgers and fries at Park Burger; eastern fare at Makan Malaysian Cafe; or pizza at Kaos or Sexy Pizza. The dining appeal is not limited to South Pearl Street, however. With South Broadway nearby, more options abound at Platt Park’s western border. Try traditional Mexican at Adelitas or a more modern take at Maria Empanadas, English pub food at GB Fish + Chips, plus Italian at Pasquini’s. Grab your morning coffee at any of the neighborhood favorites, all walkable: Nixon’s, Stella’s, Steam, Corvus, or The Denver Tea Room. Or opt for stronger beverages at Platt Park Brewing, La Cour, and Dive Inn. |
